I'm working on... becoming more "green", discovering the uncertainties of life; learning about the kind of person I want to be, and discerning my calling.
"You're always trying to get things to come out perfectly in art because it's real different in life." (Annie Hall)

So... I have a hard time putting my work out there. I don't like feeling vulnerable. This is me working on that one step at a time...

About me

Listening to really wise people; getting advice but not necessarily taking it. Being open to possibilities and suggestions in life. Being independent and idealistic. Optimism. Eating, and sleeping. Running. Jeans and Chuck Taylors. The smell of candles when you first blow them out. Watching movies in the dark. Blue slushies. Playing in the rain. The way the sky looks at dusk. I'm a country girl at heart. I really, really, really dislike drama! I love fuzzy, cuddly creatures. Giving and receiving hugs. Good art and music make me happy. Appreciation of art and music make me happy too (remember just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's bad). Black and white movies. Liking things that may be considered unconventional. Kids are fun. Constellations. Driving on random back roads trying to get lost; ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Steak and taters. Going on adventures. Simplicity. Friends. Friendliness. Anything outdoors. The color green. Crunching leaves.

Your first? You got prose down pat :) It's way harder in my opinion to make a poem sound well structured without the monotony of AA BB rhyme schemes. Sometimes we poets use those rhyme schemes as crutches and limits our way to express ourselves poetically. You put some deep emotions and contemplative thoughts on paper. Thank you for sharing them with us.

I'm guessing these cowboys don't usually make it past 7 seconds. Tough work capturing this shot. It looks pretty awesome though.

I know what you mean! If you get ahold of a Delorean let me know. I wanna go back to my childhood, but know what I know now. That way everyone will get all freaked out when I drop some calculus on my 3rd grade math teacher. Plus - free poptarts and classic Nintendo.

Another great shot

Searching

Feb 20, 2008

Searching for something
not to be found in this place.
Something bigger than this one-horse town
with its one-way streets and unsmiling faces.
Too much here will bring you down.
Surely there is something more.
