about me.

Well what to say... I guess I will start by saying I'm indecisive and stubborn, which both traits seem to consistently cause hurdles for me. My indecisiveness stems from my adornment of too many different elements and I suppose my stubbornness is in my DNA. Like the characters on the show I'm in the purgatory stage between college graduate and the rest of life. My true desire is to aid humanity in some positive way, and I'm currently or consistently trying to figure out how best to do it. I like to write on random subjects, just little things that get stuck in my head and by writing them down guess I feel that I'm not the only one who has such hair brain ideas. I would like to incorporate my writing into my life someday but right now I guess I just better concentrate on transition.

V-day

Feb 24, 2008

As I single individual I suppose I have the right to reserve my disdain towards the Valentine's Holiday. But in contradiction with the mass of pitiful singles I have had a long amorous relationship with the red day. There are a variety of reasons why people decide to protest the day of love but for each negative argumentation I will provide an optimistic rebuttal. 1. "I'm SINGLE!" WAH!(my argument... don't worry there is more) Valentine's Day is not only for those romantically involved, its for loving relationships of all degrees; friend to friend, mother to son, father to daughter etc. 2. "I don't need a day to tell someone I love them." My argument: No you may not but what is so bad about having another day to display love? Why not, celebrate a day that promotes such a positive emotion P.S. Are you sure that you don't need a specific day to share your love? Have you recently asked the people you love? 3. "Valentine's Day is a Hallmark Holiday." - For your Jeopardy knowledge Valentine's Day emerged prior to the Hallmark corporation (in the US during 1700's (according to the History Channel)). Second, I can think of a lot more coroded companies to support than Hallmark, and on the other hand who decided that cards are necessary to celebrate the day? Make your own card and support crayola.
I'm sure there are millions of other reasons why individuals across the nation do not celebrate Valentine's but, I feel I have colored a good shade of red to get my point across. Valentine's Day may not free you from your cubicle with a day off, it may not have any specific or defined historical reasoning, and it may not provide or hold any logical purpose to dress up and drink alot. But, it does encourage large consumptions of chocolate, giving and receiving of gifts, and expressing loving sediments to those who you most care about. So next year before you ban the Cupid season take off a day from the normalcy of a war stricken world and think about all the positive aspects that could come from your activie participation of love. And if not... throw yourself a pity party filled with liberal amounts of chocolate and Wal-Mart flowers!
I love You My Valentine's
