about me.
I'm a junior in college majoring in Adolescence English Education with a minor in Professional Writing.
Things about me:
I love to write, it's my outlet.
I also enjoy reading a good romance novel; I'm a nerd and always have a book in my purse :x
I relate my life to lyrics, I can't live a day without music
I'm a shopaholic...and like expensive things
I own way to many pairs of shoes to count...(hey you need high heels when you're only 4'11!!)
I'm not afraid to make scenes in public...I like being spontaneous and outgoing
Who cares what people think about you?!?
I think if you don't enjoy dancing and making a fool out of yourself, then what's the fun of living?

The Smell of Summer
I’m waiting for the smell of
chlorine drenched tangled hair and bare feet
on the dashboard, tasting the fresh air through
the opened window,
burnt rubber when tires spin on joy rides,
twisting, turning, around corners to a party
where I smell stale Budweiser and the crackling pop of bonfires
the smell of laughter and cigarettes, hands clasped on the logs
engaged in the fires warmth
I’m waiting for the smell of
lawn mowers riding over the tall green blades
of grass that nest the worms I smell when
sitting at the lake with a pole in my hand,
catching the smell of scared fish
where I smell the thunderous glow of fireworks
lighting up the passionate night of sex and barbecues
I’m waiting for the smell of
waves crashing against rocks as I watch
my toes disappearing in the smell of hot sand and seagulls
squawking over the smell of spilled food
the smell of moonlit boardwalks,
creaking with each step I take,
as kids on roller-blades pass by
I’m waiting for the smell of summer
but for now I’ll smell the scent of
old books and eager pens in the library,
steaming coffee at midnight with tired eyes
studying for an 8am exam,
rain tapping against the window while it
melts the snow off of the ground that’s
waiting for the smell of lawn mowers, bare feet, worms and bonfires.

Nice piece. I've had similar concerns - though maybe in reverse. I've thought this: I thought that if I helped someone then I would expect something in return, but then I thought that was selfish. Also, I thought wrongly, that one must barter assistance with his fellows in the marketplace of life. Correctly I have found that help is best freely given because the other person on some level is part of you and seeing them better is it's own reward. However, that shouldn't you in the mud.
This could sound awful wishywashy!
Anyway, I like the humorous twist at the end.
P.S. Blogs are great because a person can communicate anything he or she wants and get feedback without puting any stock in that feedback if they don't want.
Sanity is important. Blogging is cathartic. Blog on!
