I think that blogging is a great forum for your wit and creativity. Re: cooking, I've forbidden my husband from making those noises when someone else has done the cooking. If that's what your cooking inspires, then you are multi-talented, indeed.

I can see where you're going with the thing about your wife, actually. And, well, the fact that she's feeling the way she says she's feeling is more of an indication of what's going on in her head then anything to do with you.

And I didn't mention this in your last post, because I didn't want to look like I was pluggin', but, well, why not try writing something based on tomorrow's Elephant Words image? I always found school assignments easier to write when I had a springboard, and writing something that you can think of as disposable is always a great way to thrash the cobwebs out...

I have lost track of MySpace and Facebook. They freak me out.

This place has potential, doesn't it? And you more than have potential. It is a little strange when people say things like the thing that your wife said. It makes you wonder what the fuck you're supposed to do with it!

Writing is good. It is the big fun. You should do more of it...

So, after your wife made that comment, what did you say?

I am inspired by your entry. It's got vulnerability and honesty and that's refreshing. It seems to me that you ARE an artist. You are putting creativity into what you do wheather that be writing, taking photos or cooking. Thanks for sharing with us!

My artistic frontiers: How the paint hits the canvas for me

Nov 12, 2007

I started making these little paper models of animals with my youngest son. I'll post a picture of them sometime. I like it and he and I get to spend time together this way.

I love to take photographs and am trying to figure out how I can start again with the tools I have while planing for the next (expensive) technology leap. That is, I have a very nice Canon Eos 35mm FILM camera, which is ridiculously pricey to operate (film and developing). I have a tiny 3 megapixel digital, and I have iPhoto on my Mac. That's all I have and that's what will have to do for now. The Art Institute lion photo was taken with the tiny camera, and I think it turned out pretty good.

My writing has left me. I have written the novel I mentioned, and a bunch of stories, but I think that is all gone for now. I don't know if it will come back, but for now I am okay without it.

I am going to be taking cooking classes at a gourmet shop nearby. Little one-night classes. Fat, sugars, acids, starches, spices, and heat are apparently my natural media!

On the other thing with my wife, nothing much has changed. Though I wonder: she has a very bad opinion of herself. I wonder if I loved her less, would she value me more? I mean, to her, how could I be so great if I love a person like her so much? Just something I'm thinking.

Andy
