The Deferement of Reality's Cadence

My friend Seqouia and I would often write poetry and show each other our works by way of text message. this is one that she wrote to me....

We're lost in a movement
So dark of a mind
That can't stop thinking
And we ignore the world spinning
Because every since I met you
I've been standing still
Laughing at the inside jokes
Made undertones
For the cadence our speech would wait for
Like moments to say the right things
I want to close my eyes with you
And see the same dream
Just for a second chance
To revisit our hiding place
Unfold to a mixtape
Singing our way back to the depth
Of the things we've ignored
I'm a few adjectives away
From the words you gave
And I feel that it's okay
To tuck away reality's shades
For a day to be the poets that made it
They say we are nothing but dreamers
But tell that to those who dream
We're among the elements of finers things
Designer themes
Breathing life into the fantasies we create so vividly
Driving blind, naive in the slow lane
You didn't want to miss a thing
You're the one who filtered me
Bad news, many lies ago away
Just so the happy would not fade
Talking to the wee hours
Forget me not next sunrise that you write
Or sunset when you sleep
Dreaming of sober us
So we aren't so high off something other than poetry titles
For our rollercoaster matrix
Used for pain comprehension
Like lyrics repeated to cope
With trying to fall so hard, so fast in love
Before it takes to scenic route
