Music

,Just anything that's good,and done for the music,rather than the money. My tastes go from Harry Connick Jr. to Anthrax,from Tori Amos to Prefuse 73. I'm not nearly as plugged-in as I used to be,so a lot of what I like is kinda a little dated now,but I still find something new & wonderful every now & then.,

Film

,I'm a total movie freak,and I'm pretty broad in my tastes there,too. All I ask is that the film knows what sort of film it is,and does the best it can. My 'top five' movies would probably run to at least about 20,but just to give a taster,they include the likes of Amelie,Princess Bride,Ghost in the Shell,High Fidelity,Withnail & I ... the list goes on & on ...,

Books

,I kinda hoard knowledge,so I try to read to educate myself in whatever captures my interest (evolutionary biology being my favoured topic),but generally when I read it's mostly just for entertainment & a bit of escapism. To this end,I love the likes of China Meiville and William Gibson. Oh,and the His Dark Materials series was pretty good as well (even better 2nd time around,actually).,

Artists

,I have no pretences of being an artist - I'm an illustrator & colourist,nothing more. So my artistic influences tend to come from more 'low-brow' fields than others might confess to,tho I hate the denigration of these fields as somehow less worthy than other creative pursuits. My most 'classical' influence is probably Mucha (and I love the work of Audrey Kawasaki,who seems to be heavily influenced by his work),but for the most part I look to comic and SF/fantasy art for ispiration.,
