Like you said in your article…the whole “Your not trying hard enough.“ Yeah, been there, done that. DAMN IT I’M ALWAYS TRYING. Ugh. Her natural ability to constantly pick out all my 'flaws'…and if she can’t find one, she'll make one up. Constantly nagging on me that I don’t do enough around the house. I don’t think she realizes how much I accomplish in a day. I’m learning to tune it out though.

Tips for living in New York: 1) develop as firm a handshake as you can muster up. 2) carry a subway map with you at all times until you have it practically memorized. 3) walk with a purpose at all times. 4) practice looking straight ahead when you're on the street. gazing up at skyscrapers will give you away in an instant and possibly make you a target. 5) always assume that you should show up 15 minutes before they say you need to be there, and NEVER assume that you'll be able to leave when they say you can. And that's all I have for right now. We'll talk more soon!

Ok so I just posted a comment about staying away from “that stuff” then read this. Its obviously natural to want to rebel, and tipsy is very different from what it sounds like your friend is into…. But BE CAREFUL!! There are a million reasons and horror stories and bad memories running through my head that I want to tell you to warn you… but I’m not sure they’ll make a difference. Just know that I was/am the straight-A student too, but I didn’t drink in high school. I waited until I got to college which maybe was, maybe wasn’t good… but it’s a completely different life & scene when you’re in college. You have a lot of life ahead of you, you don’t want to mess it up because of one stupid decision… but I guess that just goes for all of us!
I hope I don’t sound like your parents! :)

hello everyone! long time, no blog...hardy har har. summer is finally here! and although i'm about to have heat stroke, i'm so happy to be out of school. let's see...yikes, its been so long, i have so much to tell! umm...if you read my Homewrecker entry about the boy, Nick...we're dating now! its amazing...and i'm in love. for the first time, i'm really in love. who knows how long it will last, but i'm going to ride it out and enjoy it for as long as it keeps going. umm... i have no idea how well or awful i did on my final exams in school, but HOPEFULLY i did alright. whew. I got accepted into the OCEANS 11 class at school for next year, so i'm very excited about that! its still an honors english course, but on top of that, its a College Writing course and i get THREE count em', THREE OBERLIN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CREDITS!! YESSAH!! i must have written some damn good stuff in my portfolio. hahaha. also, i'm working REALLY REALLY hard on getting a job this summer. i've applied to like 10 places. problem is, summer has already begun, so lots of businesses have already hired their summer employees. and my mother isn't going to pay for me to go to summer camp unless i get a job. AND she's accusing me of not trying to get a job!! the FIRST DAY of my summer vacation, did i sleep in? NO! i went with my mother to work at 8am and searched online, calling businesses all over my town, for THREE AND A HALF HOURS! but was i really trying?? APPARENTLY NOT! and then i went around and got applications to all of those businesses, filled them out, and turned them in...but is that trying? oh no...not at all. SO THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS TRYING???!!!???? because i was under the impression that i AM trying. if i don't go to camp it's not the end of the world...but i've been going for the last 7 years! this isn't like it's something new! i don't know. anyway, in case you can't tell that last part is FRESH news....which is why i'm still very aggravated about it. but what are blogs for if not to vent?
