About me

I don't know yet. I don't know where I'm headed. I'm finishing my Bachelor's in English and a Bachelor's in Creative Writing at the moment, and waiting to hear back from graduate schools. Somewhere, in some room, people are deciding my fate for me over stale coffee. What I didn't write in my Creative Writing MFA admissions essays was the fact that I'm not good at anything else. I was born a writer. I'm terrified of the future. But there's nothing else to do except to keep moving forward. That's all I have at the moment. The only commitment I have is to art. I hope you enjoy mine.

A friend of mine made a similar effect by using a projector and projecting slides onto people. Pretty cool.

I painted the developer on the paper with a brush while I was in the darkroom rather than immersing it. I had to throw it into the fixer pretty quick so it wouldn't run. I like it a lot. Thanks for the comment!

Sierras

I want just that—
snow
in the Sierras
and videos in which we inflate
each other with wisps of air from
puckered mouths.

Fred and Yumi bask
in the December sun on video,
stretched out like snow leopards
on the hood of a black
Cadillac no good
for winter, says he.

Adventures,
the time of their so young new lives.
Already old they know that wrinkled
they’ll want those snippets
of snowballs and truckstops,
power outages and cases
of cheap booze.

Somehow they got free and not me—
I am still here,
trapped and cowering
in a couch cushion fort of books
and old ideas, quivering
at the flurries.
