Folks, Rowelle has been kind enough to let me work on one of her tracks, and the "Free Prisoner" remix is officially my first qL music collaboration.

This is exciting news!
Very exciting. I'm a happy camper.

That was one of the best songs I've heard here on ql yet! I hope your solo album includes some appearances by your fellow k2t4lwhatever member.
We tried that once, but it didn't take. With any luck, we'll have something cool for the second album.

May I have your attention please?

Dex is putting his works together in album format, expected delivery date: August 29, 2008.
Show him some support!

(That's what I mean by publicizing it .)

i guess the "secret" is out. 12 originals, 3 covers, and a bonus track. Artwork design, website design, video production needed. Beats, rhymes, & refreshments will be served.

How much does this kind of stuff cost? I have no idea.

Haha, depends on how much you want to have control over and how detailed you want to get.

For a basic 4 page info site, I'd say the cost is at least a $100-300 if you get someone to do it for you. You could do it yourself for free, depends on how much time you have.

Is there anyone willing to help me design a webpage? I don't know the first thing about it, but I have a few ideas for some of the content.

What do you need help with?

Everything. I envision "dexterjones.com" being a hub for the four major things that i'm interested in, namely music, finance, sports, and activism. Did you ever see the Geico cavemen website, how it starts with their front door and takes you into their virtual apartment? Alternately, I'm a big fan of Kedar Massenburg's website that promotes his artists under management. It starts with going through a subway turnstile and walks you down to a platform. Different "people" you meet at the subway station have different functions, like the dude with the boombox which is actually a music player for the site.

I'd like to do a site that had four major virtual locations, namely a recording studio for music, a trading floor for finance, a locker room for sports, and a rendition of the front steps leading up to a courthouse for activism. Realistically, I'd want to start with the music portion first. I want users to be able to download samples and securely purchase full tracks, I want them to be able to access artwork & lyrics, and I eventually will need to shoot some music videos.

Naturally, I'm trying to swing all of this on a limited budget. How much does this kind of stuff cost? I have no idea.
