elg0nz: April 09, 2008 - 06:27 PM PST Unless its a iPod shuffle, the cds are safer, no menus to find your song, you just put them and if theres a song you don't like you just let it play, and wait.

Also i have become more lazy doing playlists since i got my iPod, i just go and click the first album i see, then regret choosing it, and choose another, and so on. Really not safer than my home made, carefully picked groovy looking mixed cds (i used to even go and design the labels and covers), good old times man.

Plus on other side, its easier to share cds than iPod playlists, I still go and burn a cd each time i want to share music the only cool replacement i have found is this http://www.makeamixa.com/ though you cant listen to it while you drive..

trenchael: April 07, 2008 - 08:52 PM PST I think it depends on what you are doing with each. I mean, if you hae a playlist and put it on "shuffle" and you are cool with that, then the iPod is better. If you burned a cd with all your faves and you won't be switching them out often, then that is better.

There is no definitive answer. It's all how you handle each.

I think that's an obvious assumption, but I could be wrong.

PUBLIC SERVICE: please don't text and drive - THAT IS ALL

and ipods are dangerous, too. the screen is too small to easily read the words, and most of us have a ton of stuff on there, so finding your favorite song probably ain't easy.

but that's okay, because eventually the ipods will do the driving for us, too...

Driving and texting is officially illegal in NJ, they can pull you over for it and slap you with a big fine.

And there are cars now that have voice activated mp3/stereo (or something like that), I think the Ford Fusion is one.
It'd be funnier if they could just slap you for it.

You'd be surprised what's been done to me.

Melissa: April 07, 2008 - 10:50 AM PST I look at my iPod too much when driving
But I wouldn't have it any other way ..in the sense i hate trying to manage CDs and drive

jha: April 07, 2008 - 10:43 AM PST I think CDs are safer b/c there's no reading or clicking required. You just open the CD case, take the CD out and stick it in, eyes are only necessary for the first step. But with an iPod you need to click several times to get to the song or album you want.

ArtistoftheWeek: April 07, 2008 - 08:58 AM PST As I hear from some people (roughly from the ages of 12-29)say that it's safer to have your iPod in your car than CDs. Because you only focus on one thing instead of shuffling through CDs to find the songs you want to listen to. Plus iPods have an unlimited supply of songs while CDs don't and you can't have a playlist on a CD like you can for an iPod.
Well I don't believe that you can't have a playlist on your CD it's called puttting a Mix on a blank CD, but other then that I can't argue with the rest of it.(because i don't have an iPod.)
The people that I hear that think that CDs are safer in your Car than iPods(roughly from the ages of 31-59) say that CDs are safer because there's less to look for. and more.. I'll post more but I have to go back to school....(out of time)
Part II Cont. of CD's
When I see my mom play CD's in the car she lets the passenger(me, or my sister Terri) change the CD she tells us which CD to put in and we do so. When she wants to change a track she does it at the stop sign. She's very safe , experienced and a fast driver. But when she got an Mp3 player she was a little less careful then she was I guess its okay its Iowa but she stopped listening to it while driving so she can focus on driving. So as I saw when I was growing up that CDs are safer. But I don't know for sure. I searched for facts you know scientific tests and other things but I ended up with nothing.
