peacelovegreen: May 12, 2008 - 09:19 AM PST i cant stand david archuleta. he knows hes got it in the bag, and still acts like " omg thanks guys, gee i didnt know i did so well". jason castro was robbed hes the man, they totally disrespected him, and even tho he said dont vote, haha hes such a pothead. i hope he doesnt do the tour, i think hell feel like a total sell out to his buds.

david cook shuld win. even tho i think idol is done. it had a good run, but its time to kick the bucket.

Plato's Curse by Franchi$e Music (wrote this in about 15 minutes...Kurt Cobain style baby!!!)

I've been kicked to the curb so many times before
Without even batting an eye they just rush me out the door
So here I am begging baby...won't you give me a bloody chance
To face the sweet music of requited romance?

Take me for what I am
A seeping syrupy poet
Whose hopeless romantic notions
Are in high demand.
With hopes that you won't leave me
On this barren wasteland...Please Understand

I'm reminded of this poet's poems
Written in prose so long ago
It's words still lingering in the wind
"A curse upon those whose intentions are good and nice
To forever be the best friend
A girl could have next to diamonds.
And never earn her place as your soul's counterpart

Why does this tear me apart?

What act of chivalry or kindness
Deserves such brash madness?
Where the effort is all for naught
Despite its utter persistence.
Why must I go through constant resistance
When it's been YOU all along
In my thoughts and in my heart

How could I go wrong?

hmm so we're down to three. i still think it's gonna end up being a battle of the davids, though i'd rather see david cook and syesha in the finals.

Me too. I'm not sure it won't be, except for the fact that Archie has such a huge teenage girl following. Personally he drives me nuts - everything from his squinty face to his nervous giggling (meanwhile, if he isn't over being nervous on stage this far into the game what is he going to do when he's headlining a tour??) to his song choices makes me struggle not to change the channel whenever he comes on screen. Seriously, I had to wonder if Simon and I were watching the same show last week cause both of his songs (Love Me Tender especially) were like someone put a 45 on the turntable and set it to 35 rpms.

jacintos: April 16, 2008 - 09:34 AM PST My rankings for last night:

David C.
Syesha
David A.
Carly
Kristy
Brooke
Jason

David Cook gets bonus points for singing one of my top 3 Mariah songs . This is getting rough. There's a lot of good in the top. I dunno who all is gonna be in the bottom 3.

rawethe: April 12, 2008 - 05:25 AM PST Been awhile, sorry guys. I am SO freakin sad that Michael Johns is gone. While I don't think he had been picking great songs, and I don't think he would win, I so don't think he was ready to go. I lost my eye candy !!!!!!! I really was suprised he went before Kristy.

I'm pretty psyched they did "Shout to the Lord" and gave a nod to contemporary Christian music industry (which is a whole lot bigger than many people think). However it was kind of awkward that there was no explaination to the song choice before or after the song. Plus, it's quite aged..."Shout to the Lord" was first released by Darlene Zchech in Australia (Hillsong Music) over a decade ago. It was popular in American churches about 5 years ago. But while they could have chose a more contemporary song...I'm still excited they gave the nod. But that's just the excited Christian in me.

jacintos: April 10, 2008 - 06:39 PM PST Hmm so I didn't think Carly or Syesha deserved to be in the bottom 3. I expected Syesha to end up there though. I thought Michael deserved to be in the bottom 3 this week, but I didn't think he'd go home. Color me surprised...

Isn't it sad that more people vote for the next American Idol than the U.S. President.

That statistic, while a little appalling, is also a little skewed. Consider for a moment that there is a whole age bracket (technically 0-17) who can vote for AI but cannot vote for President. Plus, there are other restrictions on voting for President that aren't applied to voting for AI (citizenship, criminal record). So given that there are more people who CAN vote for American Idol, the law of statistics proves that more people WILL vote for American Idol.

can't you also vote like 10 times?

rianamix: April 10, 2008 - 01:25 PM PST good church song yes....but part of me still isn't convinced that they were singing it for the right reasons.

But ohh well, I still think it's odd to have to people on the top of the list with the last name Cook.

lilsey: April 09, 2008 - 11:23 PM PST I think I'm in love with David Cook's face.

I haven't been watching cause I've got two jobs now, but I caught the end tonight, and was so happy that they sang Shout to the Lord, that was my favorite church song back in the day.

With said, I feel like the bottom 3 would probably be Kristy, Brooke, and Syesha. I don't think Syesha deserves to be in the bottom, but I could see her getting thrown in there.

As much as I hate to admit it, I don't see Kristy in the bottom 3 this week. She did well at what she attempted and I think that will get her enough of the "country" votes to keep her in the game yet another week.

If I was in charge of picking the bottom 3 I would pick Michael because he did what I so desperately hoped he wouldn't do which was the Steven Tyler scream; Jason because I have been lukewarm about him until he went with the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole arrangement of the Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What A Wonderful World medley and, since I love that arrangement, his performance made me a very sad hamster; and David A. because he has proven that he doesn't have much range, stylistically. Even classical musicians have a little fun now and then but David A. always looks so forlorn and pained except when he tries to have fun then he looks awkward. Keep in mind these are my picks and have nothing to do with predictions...I suck at that game

That Billie Jean thing was amazing.

Could you imagine how bad it would suck to get a compliment like the one David C. got for his Billie Jean and then end up in the bottom 3...or off the show? He's definitely overtaken Carly as my favorite although I miss the pink stripe he had in his hair in his audition.

AND THEN he goes and cuts his hair! *sob*

jacintos: March 25, 2008 - 08:53 PM PST My thoughts on the top 10:

Ramiele- I friggin love "Alone" lol. I think she did pretty good with it. I don't think people expect that big voice to come out of that tiny girl.
Jason-I thought it was ok, not too special.
Brooke-Eh I wasn't really feeling it.
Kristy-Lol @ her song choice. I think it was a smart move though, and I think she did the song justice.
David A.-Pretty Decent
Carly-Yet another song that I LOVE. Have you guys seen the video for "Total Eclipse of the Heart"? It's so goofy lol. At any rate, I don't think it was her best performance, but it was decent.
Michael-I liked parts of his performance, but not all of it
David C.-I really do enjoy how he switches things up, and I think he really knows who he is as a performer. I liked it .
Chikezie-Decent
Syesha-Decent.

For the bottom 3, I'd go with some combo of Jason, Brooke, Chikezie, and Syesha. There are some other people that I think might deserve a go round in the bottome 3, but I think their fanbases will keep them out.

wow what is happening to the women?! Bottom three was all female last night..and I actually think Syesha is trailing all the guys as well. It's like they don't understand that being chippy with the judges is NOT endearing. I don't think Carly would have been in the bottom three if she hadn't done that awful and sappy argument about the Blackbird...her song was actually pretty good. Kristy really needs to go...
rawethe Said:

Michael (as HOT as he is) dissapoints me more and more each week. I think Ramiele, Syesha, and Kristy are bottom 3. I like to think Ramiele will go home.

2 weeks of the Beatles was just wrong...so wrong.

Oh, and has anyone noticed...just about everytime I am in a public place with a radio over the speaker system I find myself hearing "Tainted Love"...who knew Danny could bring that back to life?

Michael is definitely looking stiff the last couple of weeks, but I like Ramiele. I think she's the 2nd best female singer behind Carly. I hope they learned not to do back to back songbook weeks like this again. and lol at tainted love

I liked Ramiele the first and maybe second week...but she's just going downhill for me. I don't know what it is though, I can't seem to put my finger on it. I know she and Danny were close...maybe she lost her confidence when he left...
