Yea for some reason ABC and the race itself is stuck in the fighting that keeps going back and forth. It started out as trying to pump up the common person and getting them to vote. Now it is just for ratings. And delaying the fighting out all year.

Okay - now that's really not cool. So I guess don't watch. That's probably what i will do. I think it's sad if the candidates are knowingly participating in a freak show.

BTW - Here's something funny someone sent me:

How to use Your IRS Rebate check

As you may have heard, the Bush Administration said each of us would get a rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China . If we spend it on gasoline, it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer, it will go to India . If we purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico , Honduras , and Guatemala . If we purchase a good car, it will go to Japan . If we purchase useless crap, it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America . The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the US .

Send this to all your friends...

Funny.....

The only business in the US that actually makes money is credit card debt.

the questions were ridiculous, the responses at the very least...were weak.

regardless...i continue to hope the democrats will make more substantive arguments/responses in the immediate future.

so for me it breaks down like this: Obama by choice, Clinton by default. McCain...never..

McCain never, really? I sometimes wonder what the campaign would have looked like had the candidate's wives run. I would have probably warmed to McCain's wife or at least listened to two words she had to speak and the same for Obama's wife. I'm kind of like most people though thinking, "Really, there's no one else?"

It's a shame that this has gone on as long as it has.

McCain is a tool. I won't vote for him no matter how stupid the Democratic party gets. I'll sooner write in a vote for Stephen Colbert.

The democrats lost. New polls that came out the next day showed McCain had an edge over both of them in the general election.

That will change once the Democratic candidate has been selected. McCain is just too old and has been having bouts of Senioritus. I want someone sharp in the Oval office for once. The thing I dislike about the past Republicans is that they were too dependent on their advisors because of their lack of intellegnece. Sure, Regan was a great speaker and wit, but he was helpless and Bush Jr. when it came to the issues.

At least Hillary and Obama have real brains and won't need an afternoon nap or break to watch Matlock.

Really? Oh... now that's funny. It's like Sixy said, after that debate even "McCain is looking is looking better and better."

grasshopper: April 17, 2008 - 01:47 PM PST Good responses all. I fortunately only saw the last 15 minutes so bravo for anyone who hunkered down for the first 45. I could almost compare this to American Idol after the open tryouts and before the finalists have been chosen. I am more leaning toward thinking that whoever is chosen be it Hilary or Obama, neither is going to choose the other for VP. And do you think people are still boiling down their decision to - sad but possibly true (?)- race and sex?

jwd: April 16, 2008 - 10:38 PM PST Worst debate this year.... Some of the most pathetic questions I've seen in a debate this year... I'm sorry, but wearing a flag pin made in China is NOT being patriotic! Sigh. ABC wielding weapons of mass distraction... So many useless, pointless, questions, designed to be responded to with pandering idiotic answers... I gave up after about 45 minutes... If I'd kept the TV on, it would have been thrown out a window soon after.. Just sickening. ABC should be banned from running future debates until they apologize to the country for that dreck...

I can't say who won, but sure as Hell the voters lost.

sixysummat: April 16, 2008 - 10:16 PM PST Well, they both felt like losers to me. I am tired of empty promises & pompous platitudes. There is no substance to what any of them say in a debate. They would be more relevent if there was some real dileniation to be gleaned, but there's not. All the promises of a campaign are shrunk to pragmatic compromises at the end of the day in Congress. That is a fact. Presidents set a mood, a tone, a color for their administration. And this one is going to have a tough row to hoe.

I may not even vote for a president. If I do, at the moment, McCain is looking better & better.

flowrktty: April 16, 2008 - 08:42 PM PST i tivod it, watched a few minutes and got irritated. i need to set aside some time and tylenol to watch the whole thing. perhaps tomorrow... but i already know who i dont like the least. we already had our primary so im getting sooooo tired of the democratic squabbling. the party needs to get their act together so the national race can begin already.

thats when the real fun will start

grasshopper: April 16, 2008 - 05:54 PM PST Did you watch tonight's Debate of the Democrats on ABC? Who do you think won?

I don't know that I've picked a winner but I can say my opinion for who I would choose (since I have to pick at this point), my choice has been reinforced. But I won't tell you just yet who I've chosen. Who did you pick as tonight's winner?
