Assumptions..

What is it with the assumptions that people make about each other? I find it so cliché the way people judge others without really knowing the person at all. I say its cliché because i have noticed my friends judging others by the way they dress or taking a double take and making a negative comment about a person. Don't get me wrong sometimes it can be amusing the way someone can present themselves to the public. But why do people care enough to judge the person and make assumptions about how they are. It really doesn't do any good. Are people jealous of one another? Are they trying to find some sort of way to feel better about their own insecurities?
