About me

I am sitting at the crossroads of my life. I hear the words Tabula Rasa and I dream of what they could mean for me. I am taking a risk in a short period of time that may make or break who I am as a person. There is hope, but it is fragile and I am known for breaking such precious things. Wish me luck in my journey and I wish you luck in yours.

she is saying she is confused.
she is saying she wants to be know but is scared to show her true colors...
a black dove is simply a dove exposed to an oil spill... take that oil off and you have something beautiful.

hey

thanks for commenting on my poetry.

i really like this body image video. i think its really important to show that men also have an idealized and unrealistic body image to live up to. sometimes i think that looking and acting like a "real man" is so much harder than acting and looking like a "real woman." the media always seems to see body image as a women's issue, but that isn't always the case.

isn't it so strange that we're our own worse critics when it comes to our bodies, especially? we're worried about how our body looks which steams from our ideas of how other people perceive our body. yet, no one ever really notices that our love handles our out of control, or any other problems we seem to criticize ourselves for.

really insightful

The truth is we all suffer from some sort of body image issue. We can all try to hide it, but in the end it gets to the best of us. Those who say they think their body is perfect, it's not true. We either think we are too fat, too short, to thin, to tall, our hair is too long or too short or not the right color. If we have straight hair we want curly hair... in the end we have to accept who we are.

I want to point out that those stick models you refer to, have a negative body image too. Most of them are only that thin because they have been constantly told that they aren't pretty enough. They all are insecure, and that's why they starve themselves because they are so insecure and have such a negative body immage and care so much about what people think. So I try to look at it that way. I speak from experiance, they are miserable people. It isn't something to aspire to, because the only result is more misery and more insecurity over every little percieved flaw that they have. I applaud you for making an effort to just not care.

I really like this video. Very honest and relevant to the body image trap society has found itself in today.

Ah, but how do you know the background wasn't black to begin with? :0

Hyperion

Jun 03, 2008

Struggling through the shit
Clothes torn to shreds
Cruising around for the next hit
Surrounded by people with empty heads
No one to talk to
No intelligence to be seen
In the distance a silent "Fuck you!"
Its enough to make you scream
Why cant they see?
Why cant they understand?
Why do they continue doing these things to me?
Why must I be forced to take a stand?
Get away from me!
I'll kill you!
Get off of me!
I have a gun!
And still I cannot get away
The streets turn black
I will live to see another day
The river runs red
Its not me who will end up dead
I open my eyes
Its all been a dream
Alone with no one to hear my cries
No one to hear me scream
My hands run red
My hands torn from jagged nails
No one is dead
My mind on rails
Speeding into oblivion
My soul fleeing for safety
I am now Hyperion!
