Wow, that sounds pretty rough. we've never had to worry about anything too extreme. Well, we get really terrible flooding sometimes but other than that noting.

Hey everyone!

So I've been neglecting my QL page a bit lately. I think my last entry was my birthday (April 30th). Whoops. I turn into a total bum over the summer and neglect everything (this, email, LiveJournal, even Facebook!) So my apologies. I made a video today on my camera for QL but apparently the file is too big. I'll try to shrink it a bit so there's proof that I still exist! Not like I'm the poster girl for an exciting life or anything, but in case anyone out there's interested...

So what's new with me? Not much. I came home from school expecting to find tons of employment opportunities, but alas! This economic crisis has made jobs very scarce. Starbucks isn't even hiring (and here, they're ALWAYS looking for people). So I remain unemployed

It kind of ruins my plans, as this was supposed to be my big moneymaking summer (so I can go abroad next summer). I'm doing some odd jobs, but not making nearly enough. C'est la vie I guess.

The upside is that I'm getting lots of time to myself. This past year was tough at school (academically), so I need the time to rest and relax a bit. I've been reading like crazy, spending most of my days curled up on my bed with a good book, great music, and a nice rainy day outside (like today!) I've had bursts of entertainment. I've seen 13 movies in theaters this summer (psh - all the money I've made goes to tickets!), took a weekend trip to New York City (my first time there ever!!) to visit one of my best friends, and I spend a day in the Florida Keys with my 2 best friends on Sunday (getting a HORRIBLE sunburn in the process). I'll also be taking a vacation with my family in a couple of weeks up to Canada! I'm very excited.

Other than that, not much is happening. If anyone actually reads this, PLEASE respond by commenting or shooting me a message! I NEED communication with the outside world to keep me sane!
