We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.

About me

Music has always been a big part of my life. I started playing piano when I was 7, the trumpet when I was 9, and guitar when I was 16. I wrote my first song, Let It Go, just over a year ago (in September of 2006) as a way to get over a guy who, well... the song explains it. After that, I just kept on writing songs, mainly about things that move me. I wrote for me, at first, just as a way to channel my emotions. But then I realized that other people might like it too, and can probably relate to a lot of the same stuff I've been through. Listen to my stuff, I hope you like it.

Performance Tonight

April 6, 2008

Last week, I was asked by a friend of mine to perform at the JMU Chapter's NAACP Image Awards. I can not even begin to describe how exciting this is. So, tonight's the big night, and I'm going to be singing two of the songs that I wrote (Langston Hughes and Memories Yet To Be). I'm so nervous, but it's not like I've never played in front of people before. Truth be told, singing in front of 100+ has the same effect on my nervous system as singing in front of 10 to 20 people. Does that make any sense? I'm putting myself out there, and I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to do it. I have to be there in about an hour and the nerves are setting in, but they won't be really kicking until right before I go on. I just hope that I don't make a complete fool of myself and fall or knock the mic stand over or (even worse) forget the words. We'll see... Maybe my roommate will tape it or take pictures and I'll upload them here.
Wish me luck!
