Okay, let me try to explain this better. "Social refers to human society or its organization." Injustice is the "violation of the rights of another". Alcohol abuse is a social injustice by it harming or hurting the people affected. It not only affects the person who is drinking it, but it also affects the poeple around them. Its a part of a broad overview of injustice. Most people only think of domestic abuse, rape, or racism as a social injustice but what those acts are doing is harming other people. Alcohol may not be as direct but it greatly harms the people and family around them. It is a growing problem and shouldn't be looked over as just an addiction but a problem in society. Hence, my social injustice.

alcohol abuse affects people daily making it one.

I agree with you post about the show not having to be everything to all. I too believe it is the writers choice and should tell the story they want to tell. It is totally OK to not be able to identify with the characters. I could go on and on, but I will spare you...hehe
