About me

I'm afraid I'll be doomed to apathy in a very large world - so I try and find the particular in you/me/places. I've gone through college and my first nightmare/corporate/entry-level job. I'm interested in your story, if you wrinkle your nose or just laugh out loud. I'm cliche and a little vain, easy going, open, and I always lay awake thinking before I go to sleep.

"whether fate delivers or chance recommends the young are out to sea". That's my word brotha! Ebbing and flowing with the rush of the tide. I've adopted my rhythmic thread from listening to Pink Floyd music and reading their lyrics. "Echoes" from their Meddle album. YouTube the song and you'll see what I mean. Where do you draw influence for your poetic structure and such?

Great commentary/post on that writing channel "Our Poetry Sucks" thread. Totally agreed with what you and Toru were discussing. Keep it up bro.

Thanks for the comment. I read some of your work and am looking forward to not only more, but your input on some of my writing. I'm struggling. I don't know what is is... I feel like I have so much to say...but can't get it out.

This poem has got it all man. Personification - a mannequin longing for human qualities..."the pink is sweeter";
nice alliteration..."paint me parted"; imagery is just outstanding..."and I forgot my bones pin me up proper (more alliteration)". This reminds me of that 80's movie where a department store clerk falls in love with a mannequin because she was under an Egyptian curse or something and came alive at night. Anyways bro, great job in this piece.

I enjoyed this. What was your inspiration? If I may ask.....

the north land calls home

Jun 30, 2008

the north land calls home
and spiked still but spun round
i turn, stopped the day before last
to the east line cracked
heard the west cry
over pink cloud conversation
my luck a rail way fare
will speed till the final midnight freeze
rot-hole stop
naked i'll fall to the DT worm

the north land calls home
and i confess baboon dreams
bull-ringed, guided by nightmare pincers
to save mother and sister
now gone and empty home,
once a hallway twice a closet
blank the first and monsters for second
naked i'll fall to a head's dead weight
and mouth blood drank till the midnight chime
last dawn's pipe and drummed
tap rumble of a still son's march
on the rock-mud road
