I'm too much of a realist sometimes: I want to throttle her.

Am I too much of a realist?

I spent the weekend with a friend from college -- yes the one who dreams big, "Paris". It's good for her. But then, she hasn't been through everything I've been through so she doesn't technically have a good realistic view of the world. At least in my opinion.

We were talking about an upcoming wedding (yes, the one marrying the control freak) and when we would drive up for the wedding. My grandparents usually rent a beach house the same week every year, and it just so happens to coincide with the wedding. Realistic here: two completely different states, we'd have to go through FOUR at LEAST to get from X to Y.

"Let's go to the beach after the wedding!"

Sure, Paris, let's. Oh. Wait. You'd be able to. You're having a flexible internship this summer. I'm getting A JOB. It's pretty rigid. Take vacation days when I need them. Not when I feel like going to the beach.

Seriously, sometimes I wonder how this girl gets to school. Does no one realize what the real world is? It's a job. You HAVE to go. It's not like class. There are consequences for skipping out. Seriously.

I wonder what will happen to her. The city she wants to go to? Yep, it will eat her alive. She thinks there will be places that won't have drugs, sex, etc. in this town (which coincidentally, isn't LA. Although we've talked about that. And getting portable safes. Yes, Paris, so the thieves can take the safe back to their place and crack it at their leisure. *FACEPALM*). She's very innocent and naive. So much so at times that it's scary. People call me blonde. I think she's more blonde than I am.

But when she's arrived at an epiphany? Good lord, they totally make sense. I love this girl to death but I fear she will be eaten alive at all of the naive things she has to say.

I just hope she doesn't live alone. Lord knows I probably won't be able to live with her.

Do you all know people like this? Or am I the only one? Am I too much of a realist?!
