Hey Who Did Day of Silence On April 25?
Apr 27, 2008 - 00:08 AM PST
I did Day of Silence and it was fun and irritating at the same time. It was fun because I didn't have to answer idiots when I was doing it that was sweet, the irritating thing was that my class was trying to make people talk and try to claim that they know the rules. That was disrespectful they did it so many times that I had to defend the others that were participating by writing down the Rules
You Can:
Laugh
Cry
Sigh
Grunt
Giggle
Lip and more
you just can't say words with sound..
Day of Silence is a day for anti-discrimination, anti-bullying,and harrassment against
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexuals(LGBT).
Our principal Mr.Ullses(I think that's how you spell it.)him and the office people really didn't want anyone in Columbus to perticipate in the Day because of this:
"It's not part of our religion. We don't want to endorse the actions of homosexuality but we want to understand it"
-Mr.Ullses
I was pissed off when I heard that that I punched the wall.
I first asked can we wear the Day of silence passes and participate when I asked Mr.Ullses blantly said, "No". I didn't even showed him the pass yet. The second time was when he explained it to me so yeah my school's main office didn't like that I wanted to do it but I don't like their attitude anyway so I did it anyway and told everyone else who was doing it that it was okay.
Now the classmates man everyone who wasn't participating in the day of silence was trying to change the rules like this one kid named Jared Lekar at Columbus High acts like he knows everything and if you use a reference about something or talk about something that he doesn't know about he will snap on you for it. It's like he wants to control what we say and do plus he's really annoying.
Well Anyway, he didn't know what day of silence was and he tried to say that you can't lip what you think and I told him that we can and that I got official approval for the rules but apparently that's not enough for him cause the rules didn't come from him. That's so stupid. Unless he had sex with the person that makes the rules of day of silence other than that he didn't know the rules.
Then there was this short and stubby kid named Shelby who tried to make people talk like it was a competittion or something. Basically disrespecting the Day. Which did not sit well with me at all. I was so furiated about that but I saw that he was trying to make other people talk so I distracted him by flipping him off.
The great thing is that almost 20 people did Day of Silence and I was glad about that. So all in all it was good.
I guess the reason why I really did Day of Silence was because I wanted to see if my classmates could handle anything LGBT/my life out side of school they failed but I expected them to. Plus I support anti-discrimination against anything because noone deserves to be harrassed for what they are, look like, or even what their families do.
I like rebelling against the school though it's fun to do. I'll probably get a detention for having people do it and me doing it myself but I don't care.
I had The L Word soundtrack lyric/credits booklet with New Buffalo's Somewhere, Anywhere lyric booklet with Roisin Murphy's Ruby Blue lyrical booklet. It was fun to shock people when I pulled them out my bag.
