Apr 09, 2008 - 08:46 AM PST Everytime I go out somewhere I notice more and more people forgot what a city is.
Back in the day (which was a wednesday like Dane Cook said) people were so exited to just go for a one day trip to the cities. Not only cause towns used to suck.
Though they were very unhealthy places, with lots of dangers and stuff, it reminded people the power of oneself as a creative human being. A city is more than just cement and roads. Its the ever present manifestation of the human will. Of our ideas and tecnologies put together so we can "live better".
Of course let us not jump to social issues.
Its just that everyday dozens of millions of people get the chance to move in such places and they never stop to notice a fountain, or a lightpost, or arquitecture. Only some do, but the city was built for everyone to enjoy right?
We keep forgeting we built cities for us, they dont lock us. Nevertheless we keep going to work, we keep hating were we live, etc.
Not even I enjoy the city like I should!. But I'll sure start doing it.
Cause in the end there is beauty everywere in the city. From a simple corner to a park.
