He is Silence

He grabs ahold of my throat,
so hard I almost choke.
He doesn't let a whisper fall,
not one single word at all.
His grasp is angry and strong,
I wonder if its going to last that long.

Silence is a barrier, a warrior,
one who never backs down.
He doesn't listen, He never learns,
and He always seems to be around.
Somehow He always wins,
it doesn't matter what for.
Somehow He never gives in,
staring back at me through our door.

He sits next to me,
reading a book.
Stealing away time from the clock,
ignoring my expectant looks.
He sits there with His smug face,
loving every moment.
No regret, not even a trace,
I can feel how much He loves it.

Silence never backs down,
He's stronger than my will.
I fight and hit the ground,
I can't see Him but I know He's real.
He just can't get enough,
He shows up everyday.
He takes away all his love,
He just won't go away.

He is Silence

Wow that's really powerful... Seriously I totally get where that is coming from. I love the implications and you can almost feel the fear and the isolation of the situation in this poem.
