HATE HYPOCRISY...AND RACISTS

The more I try to meet and get to know people, the more I grew tired and frustrated about it. Why do people tend to pretend to be someone else?

One of my daily routines would be checking out people's profile online, just for fun. There are some profiles that appear sincere, down-to-earth and nice. And most are just plain shallow and stupid. But as soon as I send a message to the nice ones, I realize that most of those profiles are just good appearance without any substance. Sometimes I have to meet them to realize how fake those people can be.

I met and made contact with a few people who claim to hate racism, but later state that they prefer Asians or White only. Some would totally shut me out once they know I am a Malay, though they claim to be open-minded and friendly. Some even went to an extent to admit hating Chinese and Indians and Malays. It's too extreme but that's the reality of my life, my world.

I'm from Malaysia and I live in a multi-racial/cultural country. I can understand if some people have some difficulties to accept each other differences because we have different faith, belief and culture. But at least the people that I interact with every day do not pretend to be non-judgemental. Though we generally live together in harmony, we learn not to cross the line. And so far we have become mature enough to get to know and understand about someone based on qualities besides the colour of our skin.

But what really baffles me is that some people who claim to be open-minded (but turned out to be the racists) are foreigners. Those who suppose to be free from prejudices. I just don't get how they can be such fools. And I really don't know how those people could decide to like someone based on their race.

The more I think about it, the more I dislike to world I live in.

I agree. Most people are shallow and don't really care to much... they don't want to take the time to understand or appreciate things that are different from theres. Many people also have a rather strange and warped perceptive of them selves and there own ideas. Its only when those ideas and believes are put to the test do you really see what and who they are and what they truly think. Keep in mind though that this is true every where in the world. Thank you for sharing you thoughts.

It is always easier to hate than to accept. In other words it takes less effort to be racist. Accepting something different from yourself takes alot of work and people are lazy! I like your honesty. keep writing!
