I want to get with the program! I was just recently talking to my boyfriend about Iraq, our troops and so on. We both agreed that it would be a great idea to move to canada because their not at "war war". And they are so hardcore about peace keeping. But now listening to an actual Canadian resident shine some light to what the media does not mention is interesting. I actually started looking on the net for more info and your facts are correct. I have to say I blame it on our media which we can no longer rely on for accurate information and also on us, society. These days we are being told by our own president Bush to consume more because of our economy making it our priority and diverting our attention to that, and making it seem as everything is ok because war is not happening on our land. Sure the post up numbers of soldiers we've lost but that's it. They forget who's also fighting with us, they forget to mention the number of people we've killed and the number of soldiers that are having problems with their emotions, mentally, and physically that can and has affect their mission over there. I'm glad that they are people like yourself who are aware of this, and who are willing to teach and speak out to the masses of what is really hapenning. So, I want you to know because of that 6 min piece you've changed one person in this world. Thank you. --From California
Part of the problem is that most of the media is lying to us about what we're doing in Iraq. I think it's interesting that she thinks we're "peacekeeping" when most of the media I hear has just been giving statistics of how many soldiers we've lost. And how can we be simply "peacekeeping" if we keep losing hundreds of soldiers? We are, however, doing many things over there besides just fighting a war; our soldiers are actually helping bring some people fresh water nearby where before they'd have to travel miles. The question is, is their future worth our lives?
Hi I'd be interested in hearing what you found out. I tend to look at the world as a whole. Over the last ten years I have made many friends from around the world. We all are faced with the same basic problems. Regarding the war London was attacked too. We don't know where they could strike next.
