She fell in love with the boy in the band.
They lived in the same city, it turns out,
A place I’ve never been.

Home, she sits up and writes late into the night,
I’m still waiting for her to be done,
And fell asleep on her bed.

She laughed and flirted with those boys,
Turned bright red and denied it.
I stood and watched.

She said “I miss you.”
Joked and smiled, it’s all in good fun.
I don’t want this anymore.

If you’re going to leave, leave my heart right here
Because it can’t survive all on its own.
Best friends should stick together.
You said you’ve never had one, I think it shows.

Don’t you realize I need someone here?
If you’re going to move on, then move on.
Don’t be coming back to remind me

I’ve decided to stop needing her.
So maybe I won’t miss her as much,
Next time she leaves.
