Really? The reason for the choice was that portraits are a special bread of animal,one has to take several things into consideration when approaching them with a finished end product in mind.That it should be more than a snap shot which is what Wendy-the gapped mouth shot/drawing you commented on-was.It was fun to do and has a good kick to it.In time however we age,we change and our views alter.The spur of the moment momentos recede and our interest in them fade with time.Also all your friends and relatives will see it and not necessarily the way you do so an objective approach is part of the consideration for the definitive work.Am talng contextually of course,i.e. what wishes are expressed and what material is available combined with what modicum of talent and ability the artist,humble old me in this case has to offer.
As an artist,a portraitist if you will in this instance I look into eyes and soul of the subject and attempt to span time,to create something that even the subject will grow to appreciate more and more as time goes on,so a closed mouthed contemplative shot is ideal as in the one used for your study.You will remember that I did ask you initially what photo you preferred and believe you said "what ever you want to do is fine with me:-)"

The trip was great,covered a lot of ground in a short period took tons of photos attended awesome script readings and met some very interesting people.Met very briefly the Dean,Mr Flagel himself and afforded one direct question to the maestro,Mr Marshall Herskovitz at the intimate(few people)luncheon on Sat.
Your awesome intriguing captivating alluring intelligent contemplative penetrating image is heading to my small pocket sketch book this very weekend ,can't wait to get at it feel it will be good!Hang in there old gurl:-)
