Now The Catch-up for ArtistoftheWeek.
New Buffalo
I Like New Buffalo Her music is so calming and nice to my ears. She has such a great voice and her melodies are so impressive. I recommend this Artist for the poeple who want to chill out and shake their body later. My favorite song from New Buffalo is Inside on The Last Beautiful Day Album. On Her MySpace page she has a remix of Emotional Champ called
"Emotional Champ SDR MVD Remix" Check It Out.
Hope You Like This sampler of the

The Research
The Research's Beats and Tunes are pretty attractive to the Teen Demographic Ages 13-25. But is enjoyed by all. As I found out when I listened to the music. Other than that they're a good band. Great to listen to when after a break up Cause well the whole album was about "Breaking Up" hence the title. I like the styles they do with their songs. The band is working on their new album with a new member and a different style of the music. If you want to listen to some of the new songs go to The Research's MySpace and listen to "I Would Like To Be Forgotten", "Anytime Babe", and "Lost Souls In The Vapours". My Favorite song of the Research is "When You Get Home".
Georgia Lashbrook has been working solo for the new project called The State of Georgia on MySpace and has made a song called, "Like You've Taken My Arm", "High Hopes" and more.
Luckily I was able to find a way to get Music videos from MySpace to Quarterlife. So here it is the rest of The Reseacrh Music Videos.
The Dixie Chicks
The Dixie Chicks a family favorite. I discovered this band from my mom and fell in love with their music. I always liked their music when they became politically correct with that statement I loved them even more.(When I found out about it in 2006,I was young when it happened.) Their music is for all ages. Can change peoples minds and can change peoples hearts. The Dixie Chicks are a trifecta of a perfect Country band. Their song The Neighbor was featured on the end of The Shut Up & Sing Movie and has been hard to get since they bupped it off of iTunes in March 23, 2007.
Which upsetted me cause I like that song. Oh and apparently Martie Maguire is pregnant.
My Favorite song is "Lullaby".
Psapp
Psapp is one of the strangest yet intriging artists I like. They love cats, have outstanding beats of music that everyone can enjoy and yet can make their songs serious at the same time. Psapp's songs have been featured everywhere and music fans are loving Psapp's sound. Psapp even has their own genre called Toytronica. People have always had trouble with saying "Psapp" so luckily they have an audio pronunciation for their name on MySpace.
My Favorite song of Psapp is "Needle & Thread".
Uh Huh Her
Uh Huh Her is a band that has addictive sounds for the masses. Their new Album Common Reaction was supposed to be realeased on May 20, 2008 but now it's been moved back to August 19, 2008! Upsetting but it happens. Thanks to Imeem I was able to put three of the songs from their album on the Imeem playlist. "Not A Love Song", "Common Reaction", and "Wait Another Day". So there's a little preview of what the album's going to be like.
My favorite song right now is "Expolde".
Jem
Jem is a happy soul.....With dark and creepy lyrical songs. Jem is a songstress that has always been an optimist until she has to be a pessimist which is very rare at times. So good news has been posted on Jem's MySpace about her new album. The Album is coming out in the end of the summer so probably October or November. She said that the reason why she hasn't been able to release her album earlier is because of record label troubles. So now everything's fine and she's doing fine.
I was getting worried that she was deciding to quit being an Artist. People have noticed that Jem sounds like Dido but if you listen closely you can tell the difference between the two singers.
My favorite song of Jem is "24".
You know it would have been cool if the TV Show 24 had the Jem's song 24 as their theme song. That would make me watch the show more.
Samantha Tobey
As you might know Samantha Tobey has become pretty big on Quarterlife.com and has made so many new connections. Samantha Tobey's music has touched the hearts of many and has changed the lives of some. Samantha Tobey's music really hits home with what's going on with people today. Samantha Tobey has been thinking about having a band but needs help with coming up with a band name.
My favorite song of Samantha Tobey is "Walking Forward".
Anya Marina
I love Anya Marina's music. So attractive to me. Not all but most songs. Her voice might not appeal to all people but I like it. Her way of styling her songs is so provocative. I saw that People like the song "Move You(Slow & Steady Seduction Phase Two)" which was great cause that's my favorite song. A great song to listen to when you want to get up and move, hence Move You. On Her MySpace profile she has a great song called "Try It and Like It" I love that song even though it's a demo, which means it might not be on the new album. She has also her cover of "Lake Michigan" by Rogue Wave and "Move You(Slow & Steady Seduction Phase Two)" with a little something extra at the end of that song. Singer-songwriter Anya Marina has signed to Chop Shop Records, the
Atlantic-based label of music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas. Marina's second, still-untitled album will be released by Chop Shop in September. It will feature collaborations with Spoon's Britt Daniel, Louis XIV's Jason Hill and Unwritten Law's Scott Russo.
My New Favorite Song of Anya Marina is "Try It and Like It".
Feist
Leslie Feist has been recognized by many since the beginning of her career and has been meeting with great people at the same time. Loving the connections it has gotten her to do the Open Season Remixes and Collaborations CD. Her voice has always been a peculiar one. But it's a great voice. Feist's music was loved by everyone when *New Buffalo wrote her song "1234", of course New Buffalo's great. Her songs have drawn people into her intoxicating lyrics and vocals.
My Favorite song of Feist is either "Past In Present" or "Intuition" I Don't Know Yet....
Ingrid Michaelson
Ingrid Michaelson has become a success without a record label. Her song "The Way I Am" has been featured on VH1 and an Old Navy Commercial. her songs has been noticed on Grey's Anatomy with an exclusive one for the show'season finale called "Keep Breathing". A song on her MySpace profile is called "The Chain" and it's so good. For a live song it has very good quality and the song itself is so powerful and emotional. Ingrid is touring alot nowadays and been creating new songs at the same time. An amazing and busy Artist.
My Favorite Song of Ingrid Michaelson is "December Baby".
Here a list a places that Ingrid Michaelson will play in.
Hey Nice Banner!
Frou Frou
Frou Frou was the band that shocked people by their talent. Imogen's voice with Guy Sigworth's Music was a good pair. Many music fans have been impressed by the music and the extroadinary Stylings of those two together are amazing. Imogen Heap has relesed a new album called
"Speak For Yourself" and Guy Sigworth is now working with many Artists like Amy Studt, and Mirah.
My Favorite song of Frou Frou is "Shh.."
Maria Taylor
Maria Taylor's music is good to listen to at calm times most of the time unless you start listening to "Irish Goodbye" then its a great way to shake a thing or two. I like Maria Taylor's music for the calmness and for listening to the songs while reading a good book. Maria Taylor plays music with her siblings and her friends. Now I don't know if this is true but Maria Taylor said that she's releasing a new album in the fall.
NOW I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S TRUE, DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!
My Favorite song is now Irish Goodbye it might change back to "Clean Getaway" or to "Lost Time" I Don't Know...
Well that's about it for ArtistoftheWeek until now.
Have A Nice Week!
