It's a sigh that escapes me
I'm tired today
Bored today
Still wanting things I cannot have

I am happy, really.
Maybe I'm jealous of life, and mad at life all at the same time.
Because how can it be
that while I strive for a little more luxury
there is always someone else who's hungry?

I think of that
and I suppose that's what makes me tired
because I have that mentality that I can save the world

And little by little
I realize
that my corner of the world (that tiny spot that I call home)
is rather bleak and dreary
...and I've not made one dent in making it any clearer

So I'm tired today
knowing that change
here
or there
(or everywhere, really)
is one hell of a long way off.
