Quarterlife Physics

February 28, 2008 at 18:14 PST
I'd like to start posting blogs and things so I thought this was a good way to start.  My boredom from last night reprinted from the @pack thread.

The Quarterlife Laws of Motion
Quarterlife time isn't straight but circular. Crazy! We have invented the forth law of quarterlife physics.

The first law states that threads in motion tend to stay in motion.

The second law states that the awesomeness of a thread is equal to it's mass multiplied by it's acceleration.

The third law states that for every post there is an equal and opposite post.

The Quarterlife Laws of Thermodynamics
The first first law of quarterlife thermodynamics states that if two posts are of equal validity they are in equilibrium and extended debate will do little to unbalance them.

The first law of quarterlife thermodynamics states that the awesomeness of any post is equal to the number of emoticons favoring it and the number of tenured quarterlife members defending it minus the amount of scorn it receives from Melissa or Marshal.

The second law states the entropy of a thread will increase until it disappears off of the active posts page unless the attention span of active quarterlife users increases at a proportional rate.

The third law states that as new involvement in a thread approaches zero the actiness of current posters will reach an constant minimum.

The forth untested law states that the evolution of quarterlife is directly proportional to the available creativity of quarterlife members.

Truly brilliant work. Einstein would be proud.

Math is art in itself. Very profound findings. Newton and Carnot would be proud. To add in a theological touch, "@pack cannot thrive on old members alone but on every utterance that comes forth from a newbie's creative contribution."

How'd I miss this? This is brilliant!

Favourite: The third law states that for every post there is an equal and opposite post. It's so true. I get so frustrated when I find out that someone's either against/opposed my writing, or has seen my writing and written something exactly like it.

This is pretty interesting.

qlife quantum qhysics: the future path of any single posting cannot be determined with definite probability. an element of random unpredictability is built into the very fabric of quarterlife...

Mhmm... I have to agree, nice work.
