I'm a bit awed. The characterization is very refined. The index finger with its highlight is extraordinary, the gesture part of some finely observed anatomy. The framing strategies with their suggestion of oblique planes; the delightful "distressing" of the surface , which also helps to build the composition by defining areas; and the narrative and psychological depth that the two texts give the portrait; - these are elements of a developed aesthetic. I hope I don't sound too much like a professor or - God forbid - a critic... How about this: I could look at this again and again.
