I just want to start off how much I appreciated your honesty. Now I know that might seem stupid but there was something that came across that you don't always see, so thank you for sharing.
I'm totally on the same page as you. I've never been one to act out things I don't know, nor will I speak out on something unless I know from my own account in life. Or at least I try the best I can. I two never felt that college was the way for me, in fact it was never in my plans to do it and I have yet to. I've spent the last 4 years living. Now I won't brag about where I've been and what I've done... but I feel very blessed and privileged to have experienced the things I have.
Its only because of life that I now enjoy acting and teaching... because in stead of just talking from a book or reading from a script... I can now share first hand. I know what I know because I've done it.
Its so sad that often what we love, we want to get paid for and then when we do, we lose the love for it. Its so hard to find that balance.
Think of it this way... you have to play out the hand you've been dealt, but theres always the next hand to try something new.

A lyric comes to mind when I hear your dilemma..."I'm lost up in the clouds, with no hope of coming down, I'm stufk here in the crowds, so I've got to leave this town." Follow your heart and the rest will follow. I've always felt that school wasn't meant for me either. That's why I stuck with the community college route, moved to San Diego to experience life, and am barely getting back to trying to accomplish something educational wise (a certificate for Radiology technicians). I am still pursuing my art which is music and I hope you do the same for acting. I don't think it's all about being fake on screen. You're applying yourself and experiences into the character you are playing so there is some authenticity there. "Truth begins in lies." - Gregory House M.D.
