6.Mar 13, 2008 - 23:11 PM PST What is cool, really? Hahaha that immediately reminds me of Dave Chappelle's HBO show...can't remember which one, if it was Killing Me Softly or....the other one. Lql I loved them both I just forget the title of the other one. Anyways he says "How old is 15, really?". You have to see it. I wish Dave would come back. I was just watching the Matrix. Once a horrible demonizing movie in my life responsible for several paralyzing nights of fear and questioning - My body is a humanoid shell of my slave existence! -now I realised I kind of love the movie. Well not really LOVE - as in it kinda makes me laugh and think a little at the same time. But I just enjoy it. The pale faces, black hair, mystifying sunglasses - how do they stay on Morpheus's FACE? And of course the slick leather pant suits that Trinity always wears, accompanied by a very avant garde trench coat. I always wondered about the functionality of the outfit. If you were being programmed into the Matrix with all you needed, why would you wear something hot, squeaky and uncomfortable? Why not opt for perhaps a hundred percent cotton T shirt with some track pants and a pair of Adidas? Hah! I just thought about it. Wouldn't work Trinity. You just wouldn't be cool. To me watching the Matrix is such a thrill because you hear that pulsating rock/techno beat, you see this group of people whooping some ass in slow motion and you think YEAAAAAH. Thats right, I actually say it out loud, accompanied with a little wiggle of my toes. I'm just wondering why the same smooth lines "Dodge this bullet" come off with such power and awesomness when a Buffy the Vampire Slayer line...or say a Power Rangers line...just doesn't? I guess I will admit right now that honestly, I suppoooooosssseee once upon a time those heroes would have had the equal impact of Neo, and Morpheus would have sent me screaming and crying to bed (again). I'm wondering when/why I suddenly shifted this notion of 'cool' onto murderous gadget trendy people with as much emotional range in their voices as dry paint. Just wondering. You better believe I'm downloading Matrix 2. Gotta see that shit again! |
