Every Sunset

She can be seen on the beach
Every sunset since her lover left
Waiting for her long lost love's return.

He can be seen on the sea
Every sunset since his wife fled
Waiting for his long lost pride.

And she can be seen on the breakwall
Every sunset since her true love passed
Reaching out to, ince again, hold her hand.

And he can be seen on the docks
Every sunset since his job was lost
Remonising of when he could still use his.

They can be seen on the shoreline
Each sunset since they lost their wills to live
Looking Off into the distance, waiting.

They can be seen there
Each day, watching the sun melt into that horizon
Every night when it's done, and a new breath is drawn
You can find them going about, picking up their broken lives,
'Till the next day at dawn.
