First Person

Mar 14, 2008 - 18:23 PM PST

So, I noticed that I haven't written anything (minus poetry) in first person, and since I have some things on my mind I figured I would get them off my chest.

I attract the coolest, most messed up people in the world. This isn't a bad thing, but more so an irony. I have lived this bubbled life in suburbia and I meet the people of opposite past. I mean I have these two friends that are engaged. He is 17 she is 19 and they are the cutest couple you will ever meet. Her engagement ring was bought from a quarter machine and she shows it off like it is a $10,000 diamond ring. They are my little bunnies in spring time, I love them.

Not to mention they are some of the most interesting people I have ever met as well. First off both are clean ex-addicts; she having done meth and he heroine. So, they aren't the "I love pot" heads, but serious drugs. Yes, I know drugs are bad, but remember they are both clean now so I can safely talk about it. He went through rehab; she doesn't remember how she got clean. So here there isn't a story for her but his rehab has a story to go along with it. One of the counselors, you know the people who are supposed to be helping you quit, would give him cigarettes and I guess they even fooled around. Whether that is made up or not it is a great story.

Doesn’t worry there is more about these people then just the drugs. See she grew up in Europe, Poland exactly. Through out her life she was training to be an operatic singer, concert cellist, ballet dancer, and she worked a full time job. She is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. Oh did I mention that when she was born she was told she would be lucky to live to 30. She has a genetic disease, I couldn't tell you what it is because I suck at remembering names, but it caused her to have her first heart attack when she was three, and a couple of months ago she got a Ventricular Assist Device because if she hadn't then she would have died within the week. She is the one of the happiest people I have ever met. I we can call her our little death machine, and other names along those lines and laugh.

And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

I mean, how did little me meet such great people. I mean I have friends that I hang out with everyday and I only see this couple every once and a while and I have better/more philosophical, intelligent, and fun conversation with them then my other friends could even conceive. I left from hanging out with them today and was elevated with a calm happiness and the feeling of being something more then just a college student that doesn't knowing anything.

Don't know if any of this interests you but I had to share something that had taken a hold of me.
