history
leading up to
that smile.

Napolean marches across Europe
Ceasar is stabbed saving his Republic

I see the viciousness of all teeth,
naked fury of men hunched around fire,
virgen pools of water
in the mouth of
time,

I see atoms colide
suns explode -

I see the birth of dream
conciousness
and floating
wombs
birthing
captured
stars -

Music is born,
angel bones banging on rocks,
millinuems pass -
each beat
asking: "why? why? why?"
and each space
following
in emptiness -
forever

and guns are firing
lovers are screaming at each other
flesh is burning
castles are falling -

and there,
there
was all that
in
her smile
