having no artistic talent.

ever since i was little i was never GOOD at anything.
my brother has played soccer ever since he could walk, he also raced bikes for a while.
i never really did much of anything.
i was and still am your typical daddy's girl.

my brother always liked to draw, and he's amazing at it. in HS his grades weren't so great but he did have about 3 art classes every year which he exceled at. i was [and still am] jealous of his ability to just draw. anything he feels like. his artistic talent made me feel pretty average, i never had something that was outstanding.

the thing that makes me mad about my brother is that he's really smart. you know the type. the ones that go to class never take notes never do homework yet somehow always ace the tests. on top of that this amazing ability to draw and paint.

i always worked, and still am working, hard for the grades i get. i've gone two terms with a 4.0. but thatmostly because i work my ass off to get those grades.

i guess i do have a "talent". i pride myself in my music taste. i can find a song for any situation you may be in. it can make you feel like youre not alone, happy that someone feels the same way, appreciative of people who DO have musical talents that can put your words, thoughts, and emotions into songs. i listen to music at least 6 hours a day. i watch music videos when my shows are on commercials, i do the dishes with my ipod on, i talk to ppl online with pandora or purevolume or last.fm on.

i've never been great at writing, or drawing and painting. but i am good at listening, helping, caring. i can find a song that will mean a lot to you. i can find a song that makes you happy, makes you sad, makes you laugh. sometimes i amaze myself with the amount of lyrics i have memorized. it's pretty crazy.

anyway...i guess i'm ok at not having much artistic talent. i will start working on my photography once i get my own SLR. or get some film for my polaroid. everywhere i go, ever since i had two classes with my amazing photography teacher mrs.lentini, i think "this would be such a great picture".

for now, i'm saving up to buy my own SLR. not a digital though, i'm not too fond of the digitals. anyway...i guess i'm done babbling.

hmmm. 1. prove your mettle and say you know Damien Rice. 2. Photography is an artform, that if you have an eye for, please, do us a favor and capture the beauty the masses miss in their daily lives. 3. Music is life, your more than worth your weight in gold if you've managed a music library. Music's only as good as what you can take from it, and it sounds like you've found alot. Everything...doesnt really matter. (odd side note, if your as in tune with musical empathy as you say... maybe look into psychology) :p Laters
