Humbly with All Power

Feb 22, 2008 - 14:43 PM PST

such pleasant melancholy feelings
that dwell within the soul,
a comfortably insecure place to be,
that reasons with a disillusioned; deprived girl,
such a mournful expression she wears upon her face,
and a weary heartache that seeps through
to every smile she fronts,
a noble; a fake face, a mask that she denies she wears all day,
an amiable façade that not many see through

she longs to be fierce and rebel against,
but does not have the heart to stir the waters,
she is not weak,
no,
but not strong neither,
stubborn, yes,
forceful; never,

she will wear silver on the tips of her fingers,
and rule the world by being meek,
she is a shy but ruthless lover,
that commands the nations,
whispers speech,
and upon her forehead she bears no jewels,
not even to let her fingers dance upon where any eye can see,
hands in pockets,
eyes cast down,
no one to suspect that she is the crown,
the throne; she turns up the corners of her lips
and laughs a hollow smile,
she fills the room with pleasant grief,
decorating your blushes with kisses,
for she is no one’s, but her own,

she will not admit defeat,
she tightens her hand around the golden globe
and peers into your intentions,
she is a princess,
a distressing queen,
humbly with all power,
angry behind a smile that doesn’t touch her eyes,
distant
and betrothed to some unsuspecting fool,
she will fall him and his rule with not but a sigh,

not worthy of one,
nor none can match,
to meet level at her feet,
and though this was never her plan,
she feels the nations tumble at her will.

Nicely done. This piece reminds me of the very first poem I wrote, but this one is much better. Your emotion is solid. Not too dramatic.
