Time is an ever evolving thing. It erodes what we know as the present into something that will soon become so foreign. I am indeed 16 and as far as the future goes, it scares the living shit out of me. Im a freshmen and at a rural high school. The test scores there are so bad that the state is threatening to take over, a fellow student says that if this happens the school becomes less accredited for college and they will look at a 4.0 as a 2.0. I have some pretty genious friends that are wise and smart beyond their years and this isn't their fault or mine so this shouldnt hold them back. Teachers refuse to work here, and the teachers that we do have are over shadowed by the mean and uncaring students. This my life and I want to do something with it, but i only get one shot thats it. I don't kno what to do with it. I recently had a conversation with my friend sydney and she was telling me about this scholarship that she wanted to get, you have to figure out what your passionate about and figure out how your passion can change your community and make it happen. This got me to thinking about my passion and I suddenly knew what it was, my passion: helping teens survive....i wanna start like a teen to teen social worker type thing, like social worker/big brother big sister. Like really use our youth court, like all we did was sign up but NEVER once have I heard anything else about it. The reason behind my passion is that we are forgotten but always blamed, and help is all we need, i want to be the one that reaches their hand out to help someone else when they have fallin, god gives us more than one chance y dont we give our selves one? This is all I want to do. I want to get my doctorates degree in psychology and help teenagers, but my heart want let me belive in it enough and im so scared of letting my dreams go all to hell and screwing up my life.
