I like my latitudeMar 09, 2008 - 19:07 PM PST "Today, I spent alot of time think about the necessity of compromise, not to relationships really, but to life. Like when two people get married or hitched or whatever it is they do to get themselves attached to one another for all of eternity; the fact of the matter is that they still have to get up the next morning and when they do, one of them will probably still leave inexplicable amounts of his curly, golden hair all over the sink. Or he'll take forever in the bathroom and then even longer getting dressed, but then he'll magically disappear when it's time to make the bed. Or maybe he'll be feeling nice and generous and he'll make the bed while the other person's out jogging. Or even better, he'll get the coffee started because the one thing the jogger hates more than anything else in the world is to extract yesterday's soggy filter and throw it away. But the point is that life goes on. All on it's own. It's what it's programmed to do. Its what it wants to do, and there's really no use trying to stop it. Something very good can happen or something very bad can happen, but that doesn't change the fact that the next morning, you're going to have to get up and put on your panty hose one leg at a time, just like everybody else...Unless, of course, you sit on the edge of the bed...I mean, that's the expression, isn't it? 'He may be a billionaire, but...' Well, whatever, you see what I'm saying." |
