I Love You? I Love You Not...Mar 23, 2008 - 23:26 PM PST Who changed the meaning of "I love you"? Honestly? And why didn't I get the memo? Maybe I've been living in my own little fairy tale world. I love you has always meant to me: -I will be by your side -I will protect you -I will try and work things out -I won't give up hope -I trust you -I will be your shoulder to cry on -I will be the arms that hold you -I care about you -I accept you as you are and never expect you to be anyone else -I understand or do my best to understand what you're going through .... I love you.... Whether it's love between a child and a parent, two friends, or two lovers - Who decided to change the meaning of Love? Why does it have so many stipulations, conditions and amendments? -I'll love you until things get tough -I'll love you if you buy me things -I'll love you because we're family and have no choice -I'll love you if you satisfy me -I'll love you when it's convenient for me -I'll love you until life gets busy -I'll love you until you go against my word -I'll love you if you do what I ask -I'll love you if...... And when did people start believing they are so undeserving of innocent love? -You can't love me, I lose my temper -You can't love me, I get depressed -You can't love me, I'll push you away -You can't love me, I'm not perfect -You can't love me, I'll hurt you in some way -You can't love me, I won't let you in -You can't love me, I've already disappointed you Why?? Why is this happening? Is there no one out there that believes in pure, innocent love? |
