she's a creature that lies inside
a parasite armed with a bite
whose tale is spinning throughout my ribs
you can see every time i comply
how many secrets i've been keeping
they yell tell me how, tell me now
just some simple advice to ease the voice
a quick way to keep her head down
instead i throw up my hands and let the rain drown them out

i lay in the dark slowly breathing, her hands holding tight to my wrists
keeping me weak and left to this bed, starving away in the night
the monster is tugging at my stomach, the reason for a shallow sigh
sleeping with a fever all summer, walk into the winter, try to come out alive
their eyes catch the corners gone missing, the spark from your eyes has gone dry
the whispers weighed out and rationed, her smiles the gravel road
leading straight up to the sky
