Jason MrazJun 02, 2008 - 07:42 AM PST Its my belief that no matter how original you want to b that there is always someone who either has done the same thing as u or is doing it. I kinda relate to the entire belief that "there are at least 3 people in the world who have the same face as you" theory. n u can argue that one person had to think of it for everyone else to copy it but in actuality most people just bite off of other peoples ideas. Picasso for example didnt wake up one day n decide to paint in an abstract manner. he spent most of his life perfecting his technique at realistic painting before he went and saw an african mask n thought how cool is that. n there where plenty of other artists at the time who had similar styles but not picasso's success. so wats my point to all of this u ask? this morning I woke up n had a song stuck in my head. a song that i had not heard in close to 4 years. so being the complete internet addict that i am i looked the singer up so i could downlad that song. what i had found was the guy who had sung the song never stopped recording. yea he took some breaks but he had kept evolving and his music went from catchy/indy/pop to something new altogether. he managed to get my ear n keep it there. he was original and unique but it wasnt cuz he put some weird sounds in the background of sheeps dying, instead he blended together so many different styles that I can honestly say he is unique. so today i honor Jason Mraz who besides managing to get his song stuck in my head this morning, also earned my respect. mad props yo. ps- ppl i plan to upload some new art n possibly a video *shock |
