Jason's Top 5: Part IDec 28, 2007 - 18:10 PM PST So I was watching one of my favorite movies the other day, High Fidelity . I hadn't seen it in a while and I forgot how much I loved John Cusack's character's Top 5 lists that he would always talk about. That combined with my roommate, V's, creative writing blog that he's been working on, I realized I wanted to do my own Top 5 lists. So here's my first list for your (possible lol) reading pleasure: The Top 5 Songs That Have Made Me Who I Am Today. Feel free to comment on them or talk about important songs in your life. 1. "Let Go" by Frou Frou This is the song at the end of Garden State. If you know me at all, you know how I feel about Garden State lol. A perfect ending song to a perfect movie. 2. "Soul Meets Body" by Death Cab for Cutie When I saw this video at the beginning of Junior year I immediately fell in love with Death Cab. Their lyrics are amazing and their music sounds like nothing else out today. 3. "On My Own" by The Used A song about not really knowing what you're thinking and feeling like something is missing. It's just always been there for me when I'm not sure of things or when I'm doubting myself. 4. "In The End" by Linkin Park Linkin Park came out right at the beginning of middle school, where the first pieces of your identity really start to come together. I never really felt like I fit in and LP was there for me and has been ever since. They're the band that got me into aggressive music. 5. "Over My Head (Cable Car)" by The Fray The first time I heard this song, it was a free download on iTunes so I downloaded it and couldn't stop listening to it. I went to Target about a week later and bought the whole album. The Fray is the band that really got me into singing, something I'd never really done before that. |
