Mind Games

Engulfed and consumed by her restless thoughts she lay
Staring blindly forward, while her good dreams were astray
Trapped in terror by her own swarming mind
Lost in her visions of the good times

But as she pondered, the risk of the outside night waited patiently
Slowly creeping as its bright teeth showed incandescently
It was then that she realized how scary the world truly was
And as she compared her mind to the earth she registered that her thoughts were merely a buzz
