My First Blog Entry

Hello my name is Nick,
I'm a person who prefers to listen than to talk. I speak rarely with people I barely know if I have nothing relevant to say.

I can't call myself a composer nor a musician, but I love to create and play music. I can't call myself a webdesigner or a programmer, but programming and webdesigning jobs pay for my daily coffee at the college. I cannot call myself an athlete, but sports are one of the things I hold on to. That was about me. Artist is too much of a big word for me, but when I create, I feel like I am someone.

My dream would be to one day, know that what I do is actually of use for someone else than me.

Speaking of music...It really seems that music is in a decay right now. Why? Not because of the sequencers, and loop-based music creation softwares, but because of the people that use them. Little by little, there is less and less motivation to figure out the basics of music and harmony. There are more and more people that create music that is only rythm, without melody and harmony. Music becomes more and more just a beat. I believe that sequencers, synthesisers, samplers are great, and that music without them would lack a lot, but people who are into music creation still have to acquire, by themselves, or with a teacher a certain amount of understanding of harmony, rather than to just use loops. I love synthesisers, I love to sample and modulate my own sounds, but I dont like to use premade loops, because I feel that in some way it lacks creativity.
Well that was my opinion in a paragraph.
