My Inspirations today...Mar 03, 2008 - 18:10 PM PST It's been a crazy day. Not the longest. With all of my theatre stuff at school lately, I've been pulling a few 16 or 17 hour days. No complaints there though. But everyday, I look around and realize that i've actually learned a lot and most of it doesn't have anything to with the french language or World War II. So here are today's inspirations and learned facts... Sia - I love this girl. She's true musician. The real deal. She's sort of an acquired taste though. But her songs have the ability to make me laugh and cry. You've gotta check her out definitely asap. Her newest album, Colour the Small One, is light-hearted and deep all at once. postsecret.com - A friend of mine told me about this website the other day. I remember hearing about this website before. It's a blog for the guy who compiles the books of postcards people have sent him with secrets that they'd like to tell anonymously. It's really a great thing that he's doing, giving people an outlet to let the world know their deepest secrets without actually having to tell anyone. The Magic of Harry Potter Marching Show - Ok, for any of you who know what a marching show is, bravo! I'm actually on the Flagline at my school. It goes by a lot of other names: Colorguard, Winterguard, Rifleline, Sabreline, Auxiliary, etc. Basically, we're the performance value when the marching band gets on the football field at halftime. Instead of just hearing music, the audience gets to hear the music, watch the changing formations, and see the guard team dance, spin our flags, and do all sorts of tricky type moves with our equipment. Okay, so now you know what I do, but what's a marching show? It's a set of songs and the formations to go with them that a marching band can purchase and learn to perform at competitions. So, i'm already a Harry Potter fan, but we're doing this choreography project of sorts for my team and I had to pick one song from any marching show to choreograph, design costumes for, and learn the formations for. And found it! Harry Potter! Tsubasa - I was backstage with two friends of mine during our Saturday shows and we got started talking about anime which you either like or you hate. And I've never really gotten super into it, at least not like these girls. So they decided that I should read the entire Tsubasa series, that's 17 manga novels, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe I should get reading... Hypocrisy - One of the hardest, and most important, things to avoid in your life. I won't even try to pretend that i'm perfect in that category. But i've been thinking about it lately since I've been torn between talking with the rest of the drama people about this really bad situation with two techies on our current show where they were angry at an actor and they spit in his sandwich that he had to eat onstage and being friends to those girls. Scooter's Chai Tea Latte - Yum. |
