Walking to school together
You’re by my side again
Laughing and joking
I couldn’t imagine a better friend

It’s ten past two
Your parents are fighting once more
I sit and stay up with you
Forever I’ll be your shoulder to cry on

I move tomorrow
We sit and look through old photos
Crying and smiling of our memories
You promise we will keep in touch

A year has past
Only a few phone calls were made
You come down to visit me
I feel as if I barely know you anymore

You write to me
I can’t believe how you’ve changed
We have nothing in common
I’ve lost my friend
