Perpetual Winter (February's Song)

So my goal this year was to write a song each month. of course, i started with february.... anyway. here goes.

Perpetual Winter
Walking down the street, looking around
I never dreamed the colors could be so drained
Why would anyone want to venture outside
On a cold, hard, gray day

And the days turn to weeks, and the weeks just won't end.
Here we are once again, stuck in perpetual winter

Looking out the window, searching for the sun
All I can see is slush and cement driveways
As the night begins to fall, I look for the stars
Hoping tomorrow will be different than today.

Endless snowfalls, broken hearts, darkened moods and empty minds
All we see is hope of spring slipping from our grasp.
