Poem: "Things Lost"Jan 02, 2008 - 14:39 PM PST Things Lost Every step that I took I wept and I shook In vain, pleading Pointlessly needing Every red balloon I let go of Crying as it was devoured into the sky above Along with the magazine I was reading My house keys, my toys Any respect from arrogant boys The library book A friend took With my dignity, my faith, my secret The one friend who promised to keep it Did you know how important it was? They should have known That as I lost my phone I lost need for communication The TV remote, the thought I couldn't live again Any control I had left is straining We get so caught up in obtaining We forget the beauty of strength without them. |
