Teenage Society

Aug 08, 2008 - 13:28 PM PST

A glimmer catches my eye,
I squint in the glaring light,
The blade that was just pulled out,
Has instilled in me a fright.

That light has a purpose,
As everything holds one,
To blind me from seeing,
What you have not yet done.

I trusted the people holding the knife,
But that trust has faded like no other,
For ignorance you thought I had,
A game had begun with one another;

Let’s each pick a side,
And all take a stand,
Now when someone says go,
Take the knife in your hand.

Lift the knife up,
Then let it fall,
Into the back of someone,
You don’t know at all.

For you thought you knew me,
Your assumptions took hold,
As an event took place,
You began to form a mold.

And then I turned into,
The perfect triviality,
The radiant blade in hand,
And stabs filled with vitality.

And while I lay there,
Being infested upon
By everyone I once knew,
To be a friend to call on.

I am no longer part,
Of the popular variety,
After being beaten down,
By teenage society.

A large portion of this is literal metaphors, but some of the metaphor can be vague. Who can figure it out?
